Focus and Scope

Challenge Journal of Aviation is an international, quarterly published and open access journal that publishes original research articles as well as review articles, case studies, discussions and letters to the editor in all areas of aviation.

Primary aim of CJAVI is to encourage academic challenges in aviation discipline to seek for the global truth. Therefore, the Journal intends to publish at least a review or discussion at each issue. A double blind peer-review policy is followed in order to increase the scientific quality of the published papers. CJAVI publishes review articles, case studies, short communications and discussions, book reviews, challenge to previous published papers, and a diary on international events related to any aspect of aviation.

Contributions may range from new methods to novel applications of existing methods to gain understanding of the aviation studies. The scope of CJAVI encompasses, but is not restricted to the following areas. Papers making a fundamental contribution focused at the following topics are welcome:

Peer Review Process

Within 5 days of being submitted, each journal paper undergoes a preliminary review by the journal editor. Editor decides among four options for routing the paper: The editors of CJAVI have chosen to recognize the efforts of their reviewers through CJAVI's reviewer recognition program. According to the policy of CJAVI, each submitted paper is signed and numbered before sending to potential reviewers.

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously. This policy does not concern the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the authorship of accepted manuscripts.

Editor decides that the manuscript is ready to be published in CJAVI based on at least two or more reviews. CJAVI editors might be a reviewer.

To be rejected for publication, a paper must receive two negative reviews. Editor might be a reviewer. If Editor receives one positive and one negative review, a third reviewer must be obtained. At this point, given deadline for the third reviewer is shortened to speed up the review process. If two reviewers accept the paper and an editor rejects it; last round is completed with one selected editorial member by Editor.

A manuscript may be declined for review, if Editor considers it outside the scope of the journal. English level of each manuscript is checked by journal team before transferring the manuscript to Editor. If the level of used English is not adequate, the manuscript can be declined or send it back to the author by Editor.

Editor requests the author to revise the manuscript based on at least two reviewers. Authors may either proceeds the revise or decline the revise of manuscript. There is no guarantee that the revised paper will be accepted for publication. If the authors wish to proceed, they revise the paper and send it to CJAVI, along with a letter that explains how the reviewers’ comments have been addressed.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
